CHOICEA

Editorial Policy

CHOICEA follows these principles when we write and verify content.

We source pricing directly, and we say when we checked it

Every price, spec, or contract term we publish is checked directly on the provider's own official page — not copied from a third-party roundup or an old listicle. Every article states the date we checked ("Price checked at"), because prices change and we're not going to let a stale number quietly go stale on the page.

We separate raw price from what it actually buys

A price difference between two options isn't the same thing as one being "worse." Where we compare pricing directly — for example, a managed hosting service against the raw infrastructure it's built on — we show the raw dollar and percentage difference, and separately explain what the more expensive option actually includes (support, security, managed operations, and so on) before drawing any conclusion. We don't present a raw markup percentage as a verdict on its own.

We only compare things that are actually comparable

When we say two plans are "the same," we mean it — matching RAM, CPU, storage, and bandwidth, not just a similar-sounding plan name. If specs don't match closely enough to be a fair comparison, we say so explicitly rather than computing a percentage that doesn't mean anything.

We write trade-offs, not verdicts

We don't use star ratings or a single "best" pick. Every comparison is framed around who a given option actually fits, and who should consider something else — because the right choice depends on the reader's situation, not a universal ranking.

We don't fabricate experience or reviews

We don't write "we tested this for 30 days" or similar first-hand claims unless that testing genuinely happened. Where we haven't independently verified something, we say so rather than implying we have.

Advertising and affiliate links

Articles that include affiliate links state this clearly, both in a visible disclosure line on the page and in our Advertising & Affiliate Policy. Whether an article includes an affiliate link never determines what we say about the trade-offs — see that page for the full policy.
